Bulk Editor
Intro
The Bulk Editor is a grid of products and variants. You choose which products to load, which columns to show, edit cells, and Save. Each save is a batch that Shopify is updated from.
Open Products → Bulk Editor. It is a Pro and Enterprise feature (View bulk editor).
The grid does not include a built-in weight column. If weight lives in a variant metafield, turn that column on under Variant Metafield Definitions. Otherwise change weight in Shopify and sync the product.
Load products
The grid stays empty until you fetch.
- Click Select Filter and tick the filters you need. Each one needs an operator and a value.
| Filter | Match on |
|---|---|
| Title | Product title |
| Status | Active, draft, archived, and the other statuses in the list |
| Collection | A Shopify collection |
| Publication / Channel | Where the product is published |
| Locations | Variants that have inventory at a location |
| Type | Product type |
| Tags | Product tags |
| Vendor | Vendor |
| Sku | Variant SKU |
| Cost, Price, Compare At Price, Inventory Total | Numbers on the variant |
| Metafield filters | Any metafield definition synced from the store |
- The gear next to Fetch Products sets how the query is sorted and how many rows come back. Use it when the default order is not the one you want.
- Click Fetch Products. Products in grid shows how many rows loaded. If the fetch fails, sync the store from Products and try again.
Columns
Click Columns.
| Group | What it lists |
|---|---|
| Standard Columns | Id, Title, Created At, Sku, Price, Compare At Price, Cost, Tags, Quantity, Committed, Unavailable, Image, Status, Channels, Publications, View |
| Product Metafield Definitions | Product metafields from Shopify. Search the box at the top to find one |
| Variant Metafield Definitions | Variant metafields |
| Location Quantities | One Qty: {location} column per Shopify location. If this group says No locations available, locations had not loaded yet — close the dialog and open Columns again |
Tick the columns you want and apply. Drag a column border to resize it. The gear beside Columns is the table configuration (sort and how location quantities are read).
Export CSV downloads the rows currently in the grid.
Edit
Click a cell and type. Changed cells are marked until the save succeeds.
Edit Selected applies one value to every row you have ticked, for a column you pick. Use it for the same price, tag, or status across a selection. The button tells you how many rows are selected.
The ⋮ menu is a temporary copy on this browser, not a Shopify save:
| Item | What it does |
|---|---|
| Save Temp | Keeps the unsaved edits locally. Disabled when nothing is dirty |
| Load Temp | Puts those edits back into the grid. Disabled until a temp save exists |
| Remove Temp | Deletes the local copy |
The menu shows when that copy was saved. A temp save is lost if you clear it, and it is not shared with teammates.
Save
Save is disabled until at least one cell has changed. Click it to send the edits. They go up in groups of 50. A location-quantity edit is sent as an inventory change for that location. Other edits go with the product or variant.
While the batch runs, View changes detail → Click Here opens the same change list as Batches: each field's old value and new value, and whether that row succeeded.
A successful row loses its dirty mark. A failed row stays dirty so you can correct it and save again. Open Products → Batches for the full history.
Save View (header) stores the current columns and filters under a name so you can reopen that layout later. Load View brings a saved layout back. A view does not include the cell edits — those are the batch.
