Overview
Intro
Products shows the catalog synced from Shopify and adds ops-focused editing tools. You are not rebuilding your storefront here — you are maintaining the product data that fulfillment depends on, like weights used for shipping rates.
Purpose
- Verify the catalog synced correctly from Shopify
- Fix product data that affects rating and packing (weights, attributes)
- Make many edits at once instead of product-by-product
What is inside
| Page | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Products hub | Counts and quick stats for the synced catalog |
| Products list | Browse and search the synced catalog, sync it from Shopify, and see the sync report — see below |
| Bulk Editor | Spreadsheet-style edits across many products |
| Batches | Each Bulk Editor save, and which rows Shopify accepted |
The Products list
Products → Products (View products permission) lists every synced product: Product, Status, Type, Vendor, Variants, Inventory, Collections, Updated, plus an Open in Shopify link per row. Search by title, handle, SKU or barcode, filter by status (Active, Draft, Archived, Unlisted) and by collection.
Syncing from Shopify
Everything below needs the Sync products permission.
| Control | What it does |
|---|---|
| Sync all products | Runs a full catalog sync — products, then variants, then collections. Only one full sync runs per store at a time; Inventory Management → Sync now and the scheduled sync share the same run (the report shows the trigger: Manual, Scheduled or Inventory Management) |
| Sync this collection | Re-syncs the products of the selected collection |
| Per-row Sync | Re-reads one product from Shopify straight away and reports the result (Status updated — "X" is now Active, Product refreshed). If another process holds the product you get "X" is already syncing — try again in a minute |
| Any sync state filter | Sync failed (N) · Syncing / queued (N) · Synced individually (N) — find products whose last individual sync (webhook, order import, Sync button) failed |
| Retry N failed | Queues a fresh sync for every product whose last sync failed; each product once, anything already queued is skipped |
While a full sync runs the button becomes a live indicator — Syncing products… 42%, Syncing collections… 3/12, Syncing variants… 80%, Finishing… — and a banner above the table shows the progress (N products and N variants so far · started by …). For 15 minutes after it finishes the banner reports Product sync finished (or failed / stopped). Rows carry a Syncing…, Queued or Sync failed · retry badge while an individual sync is in flight or has failed; click the red badge to retry that product.
Product sync report
The clipboard icon next to Sync all products (or clicking the running indicator) opens the Product sync report: the last 3 runs per store, with status Running / Completed / Failed / Stopped, overall progress, and phase cards for Products, Variants and Collections (N of M synced · pages; Shopify counts above 10,000 show as 10,000+).
- Stop sync stops a running sync — products already synced are kept, nothing is deleted. Run Sync all products again later for a complete pass.
- A run that reports no progress for 45 minutes is marked failed (Timed out). A queued individual sync nobody picks up within 30 minutes is marked Lost and simply runs again on the next request.
- Cleanup was skipped to protect your catalog appears when the run would have removed an implausible number of local products compared with what Shopify reports — nothing is deleted; check for an interrupted or overlapping sync.
- Summary tiles: Products synced, Variants synced, Removed locally (no longer in Shopify), Catalog after run. Below them the searchable list of synced products.
- Individual product syncs lists every single-product sync requested by Shopify webhooks, order imports, inventory changes, collection syncs or the Sync buttons, with its source, attempt count, state and error. Each product syncs one at a time; duplicate requests are merged. Cancel queued (N) drops what is still waiting — anything that changes afterwards is queued again as normal.
Product-level webhooks (Product created / updated / deleted) are listed on Webhook Status under Products; a webhook that queued a sync shows Product sync queued in the delivery history.
How Products connects to the rest of the app
- Weights and dimensions flow into rate quotes on shipments
- SKUs / UPCs power item verification in Scan & Ship
- Product fields power Item Properties filters on Orders and Shipments
