Batches
Every Bulk Editor save, who made it, and which rows Shopify accepted.
Intro
A batch is one Save from the Bulk Editor. You do not create a batch by hand. Saving edits in the grid creates it and sends those edits to Shopify.
Open Products → Batches. Same plan and permission as the Bulk Editor (View bulk editor, Pro and Enterprise).
The list
| Column | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Batch | The title, or Batch plus the start of the id when it has no title. Under it, who saved it |
| Status | Processing, Completed, Partially updated, or Failed |
| Changes | How many edits are in the batch. A red (N failed) is added when some rows did not apply |
| Created | When it was saved, in the store's time |
Refresh reloads the list. Twenty-five batches show at a time; use the pager under the table for older ones.
An empty list says No batches yet. Save changes in the Bulk Editor to create your first batch.
Review one batch
Click View changes. Each row is one edit:
- Data Changed lists the field, the value it had, and the value that was sent (
old -> new). Internal ids are hidden. - Status is green when Shopify accepted the row and red when it did not.
Use a failed row to see which product to fix, then correct it in the Bulk Editor and save again. That second save is a new batch. The failed batch stays in the list as the record of what did not apply.
Statuses
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Processing | Shopify has not finished the batch |
| Completed | Every change in the batch was accepted |
| Partially updated | Some rows applied and some failed. The failed count is on the list |
| Failed | None of the changes applied |
