Filters
Intro
Filter lets you narrow any Orders list beyond a single order number. You choose criteria, apply them, and the table shows only matching orders. Active filters appear as chips so you can see (and clear) what is in effect.
Purpose
Filters turn a large order queue into a focused work list — for example “VIP tagged orders this week” or “orders with this SKU still awaiting.”
How it helps
- Ops leads build queues for each team without changing the sidebar status
- You combine several conditions (date + tag + customer) in one pass
- Filters can be saved as Views so the same queue is one click away tomorrow
How to use Filters
- Open an Orders list.
- Click Filter.
- Set the fields you need.
- Click Apply Filters — changes are staged until you apply (closing without Apply discards unfinished edits).
- Review the result list and the filter chips under the toolbar.
- Remove one chip, or use Reset / Clear all, when you are done.
Filter fields
| Filter | What it does |
|---|---|
| Fulfillment Status | Limit by status. Available on All Orders and All Local Pickup. On Awaiting, In Progress, On Hold, Fulfilled, or Cancelled the list already locks status for you — and Awaiting / In Progress / On Hold / Fulfilled leave local pickup orders out (All Orders and Cancelled show everything). |
| Tags | Orders that have any of the selected StoresBoost tags (active tags only in the picker). |
| Order Date | From / To |
| Delivery Date | From / To |
| Customer | Search name, email, or phone, then pick a customer from suggestions |
| Shipment Synced | Synced vs Pending — whether shipments were built for the order |
| Item Properties | Product name, SKU, vendor, or product type contains… |
Sorting
Click a sortable column header — Order Date, Age, Delivery Date, Shipped, Items, Total Qty — to sort ascending; click again for descending; a third click returns to the default (order date, newest first). Shift+click adds the column as an extra level. Total, Shipping Method, Payment Status, and Status do not sort from the header; use the Sort section below (Order Total, Shipping Method, Payment Status, Fulfillment Status).
The Sort section at the bottom of the Filter popover does more:
- Levels. Add up to five levels and drag them to set precedence — for example Item Vendor, then Total Qty high → low.
- Any field. Order fields (dates, number, totals, fulfillment and payment status, tags, shipping method, channel), the customer and address, and item fields.
- Item fields — Item Type, Vendor, Location, Name, SKU — describe an order by its first line alphabetically; Items and Total Qty count or add up all lines. Orders with no value for a field sort last in either direction.
- Custom order. For fields with a fixed set of values (Item Type, Fulfillment Status, Tags, Shipping Method, State, …) click Custom order and arrange the values yourself. Rows follow that list; anything not listed comes after it.
Sorting combines with any active filter, shows as a Sorted by … chip you can click to edit or × to reset, and is stored in saved Views along with the filters.
Filters vs Search vs Views
| Tool | Best for |
|---|---|
| Search | One known order number |
| Filters | Building a criteria-based list right now |
| Views | Saving those filters so the team reuses them |
Tips
- Customer filter requires selecting a suggested customer — typing alone is not enough.
- Tag filter uses StoresBoost tags (colored library tags), not Shopify’s raw store tags.
- After you like a filter set, save it as a View.
