Warehouses

Ship-from and return addresses used when StoresBoost quotes a rate and buys a label.

Intro

A warehouse is a ship-from address. Every rate quote and every label starts from one, so a wrong street, city, or postal code is the usual reason a carrier returns no rates.

Open Advanced → Warehouses. Integration → Warehouses opens the same page.

You need View stores to see the list and Manage stores to add or edit one.

The list

Each card shows the warehouse name, an optional code, Default if this is the store's default origin, Active or Inactive, the ship-from address, and any carrier accounts attached to it.

Add Warehouse is in the header. The pencil opens that warehouse for editing. An empty store says No warehouse locations.

Add a warehouse

  1. Click Add Warehouse.
  2. Fill Warehouse Details:
FieldRequiredWhat to enter
Warehouse NameYesWhat the team will pick on the label screen, for example Main Warehouse
CodeNoA short code such as WH-001. It shows as a badge on the list
PhoneNoA phone the carrier can print on the label
EmailNoA contact email for this location
StatusNoActive or Inactive. An inactive warehouse stays on file and is not offered as a ship-from
Default WarehouseNoYes marks this as the origin used when a shipment has not chosen one. Only one warehouse should be the default
  1. Fill Ship-From Address. These fields are required: First Name, Last Name, Address Line 1, City, State / Province, Postal Code, Country. Company, Phone, Email, and Address Line 2 are optional. Use the name and company that should appear as the sender on the label, and the country and postal code the carrier expects (a two-letter country such as US matches how carriers quote).
  2. Return Address. Same as ship-from address is on by default, and the ship-from address is copied as the return address. Turn the switch off to type a different return address; the same required fields apply.
  3. Click Save Warehouse. Cancel leaves without saving. A missing required field is marked in red and the warehouse is not created.

Edit a warehouse

Open the pencil on the card. The same form loads with the saved values. Change the address or the default flag and save. The next rate quote uses the new origin. Labels already bought keep the address they were purchased with.

After you save

Open an Awaiting shipment and quote a rate. The ship-from on the label screen should be this warehouse. If the carrier returns no rates, check the postal code and country first.
