Fulfillment Adjustments

How StoresBoost moves a line off the Online location when that location is oversold, and what this screen can and cannot do today.

Intro

Fulfillment Adjustments move line items between Shopify locations when the Online location does not have the stock. This is Shopify's fulfillment location on the order. It is not the warehouse address used to buy a label.

Open Advanced → Fulfillment Adjustments. The feature is on Pro and Enterprise (View fulfillment location adjustments / Manage fulfillment location adjustments).

What you see on the page

The page title is Fulfillment Location Adjustments. A Location Priorities button sits in the header. That button does not open an editor: there is no list of locations, no add form, and no way to reorder priorities on this screen yet.

If your store already has a location priority list, it was saved for the store outside this page. Ask support to add or reorder locations until the editor is on the screen. Do not expect Location Priorities to save anything.

What a priority list does

When an adjustment runs for an order, StoresBoost looks at each remaining line:

  1. It reads available quantity at the location named online.
  2. If that quantity is zero or more, the line stays where Shopify put it.
  3. If Online is negative, it moves only the shortfall (the negative amount, and never more than the quantity still to fulfill).
  4. It walks the other locations in priority order and moves the line to the first location that has available stock. If that location cannot take the whole shortfall, the rest is offered to the next location.
  5. A location can be set to submit a fulfillment request to Shopify as part of the move, and optionally to notify the customer. That flag is part of the stored priority, not a control on this page.
  6. If Shopify rejects the move, that location is skipped and the quantity is tried at the next one. A rejected move is not recorded as if it happened.

Shipped and already-moved history stays on the order. The adjustment records each successful move: item, quantity, from Online, and the location it landed on.

What to do today

  • Confirm in Shopify which location is the Online location and which locations can actually fulfill.
  • If lines that should leave Online are staying there, the priority list is missing or Online still shows available stock. Ask support to check the store's location priorities.
  • After a move, the shipment's item location in StoresBoost follows the next sync from Shopify. Packing lists use that location — see Documents.
  • Warehouses — the ship-from address on a label, which is a different setting
  • Inventory Management — how available quantities stay in sync
  • Documents — pick lists print one row per fulfillment location
