Store Filters & Shipment Filters

Skip importing an order — or specific items — when a condition matches, and keep matching orders or items out of shipments.

Intro

Filters decide what StoresBoost does not work on. They are built from reusable Conditions and act at two moments:

FilterWhereWhen it runsActions
Store FiltersAdvanced → Store FiltersOn import, before the order exists in StoresBoostSkip Import — do not import the order at all · Skip Item — import the order without the matching lines
Shipment FiltersShipping → Settings → Shipment FiltersWhen shipments are built from an imported orderSkip Shipment — no shipment for this order · Skip Item — leave the matching lines out of the shipment

They are not list filters — for saved list queues see Orders → Views and Shipments → Views.

Purpose

  • Keep gift cards, digital goods, wholesale channels or test orders out of the warehouse queue entirely
  • Import an order for reporting but ship only part of it (skip drop-shipped lines)
  • Hold back orders that need review before a shipment is created

Create a store filter

  1. Open Advanced → Store Filters and click New Store Filter.
  2. Name it, add a Description, and pick the Condition (a saved condition from Conditions).
  3. Under Actions, click New Action and choose Skip Import or Skip Item. Several actions may be combined.
  4. Switch it Active and save.

The list shows each filter as a card — When → condition → Then → action badges (Skip import red, Skip item amber) — with an inline Active switch for managers, Edit and Delete. Use Search and All statuses / Active / Inactive to find one.

Shipment filters are created the same way from Shipping → Settings → Shipment Filters (Add Filter; action types Skip Shipment / Skip Item).

How filters evaluate

  • Skip Item only removes lines that a Product item row in the condition selected. A condition made only of order-level rows matches or not as a whole, but drops nothing — pair it with a product-item row (the AI assistant's orders_diagnose says skip_item matched but dropped no lines when this happens).
  • Active filters run in creation order and every matching filter applies — a skip-item filter and a skip-import filter can both fire on the same order.
  • Filters are not retroactive: activating a store filter changes future imports only; existing orders and shipments stay. What happens to an already-built shipment when a shipment filter later matches on an order update is governed by Delete Existing Shipment When Filter Applied in Shipment settings.
  • Shipment-entity conditions (status, tags, printed documents) never match in a store filter — there is no shipment yet at import.
  • Active Skip Import filters are also pushed to Shopify as a webhook delivery filter to save traffic; the local filter remains the real gate.
The order import setup shown after connecting a store ("which orders should StoresBoost import?") creates store filters for you, named Order import filter — so you may find filters here you did not add by hand. Edit or deactivate them like any other.

Why did this order not get a shipment?

Open the order and check its activity, or ask the AI assistant to diagnose it: it replays every store and shipment filter in order and names the filter and action that blocked the order, or the status gate that did. The assistant can also dry-run draft filters against a real order before you activate them.

Who can use it

Store Filters are a Pro and Enterprise feature with permissions View Store Filters / Manage Store Filters. Shipment Filters use the Settings → Shipping view / manage permissions.
