Shipments

Overview

What shipments are in StoresBoost, how they differ from orders, and what every shipment status means.

Open Shipments from the top menu. It opens the Awaiting list by default.

Purpose of Shipments

Shipments is the warehouse workspace. Everything your team physically does with an order happens here:

Shipments answer: what are we packing right now, and has it left the building?

Orders vs shipments

OrderShipment
What it isThe whole purchase from the storeThe warehouse work unit (one box / one pickup)
How manyOne per checkoutOne order can have many shipments
Status aboutStore fulfillment (Unfulfilled, Fulfilled, …)Ops lifecycle (Awaiting → Shipped / Picked Up)
Where you workOrdersShipments and Scan & Ship

Simple rule: Orders tell you what the customer bought; Shipments tell you what box you are packing. Why the warehouse always works here is in Orders vs Shipments.

Example: order #1001 ships in two boxes → one order, two shipments. The order may show Partially fulfilled while shipment A is Shipped and shipment B is still Awaiting.

Shipment statuses

StatusMeaningStill editable for packing?
AwaitingOpen work — pack, rate, label, or prepare pickupYes
On HoldPaused — a Shopify fulfillment hold, a hold you set, or a Payment pending hold while the order still owes money (see below)No — wait until released
ShippedLabel purchased / parcel shippedNo (void the label to reopen, when allowed)

When status changes

ChangeTypical cause
→ AwaitingOrder sync creates shipments; hold clears; label voided; create / split / merge
→ On HoldThe store or sync places the shipment on hold; or Hold Shipments Until Paid parks it until the order is paid
→ ShippedYou Create + Print Label, or Shopify fulfillments cover the shipment and sync advances it
→ Picked UpLocal pickup completed
→ CancelledCancel while still open (if already shipped, void the label first) — or automatically when nothing is left to ship: all lines refunded, removed, or fulfilled on the store outside this shipment (see Split & merge)
→ MergedMerge flow combines this shipment into another

Payment badges

Next to the status, a small banknote badge flags money still owed on the order:

BadgeMeaning
Payment pending / Partially paid (blue, on an On Hold shipment)Held by StoresBoost until the store marks the order paid; released automatically
Payment pending / Partially paid / Awaiting payment (red, on an Awaiting shipment)The order owes money but the shipment is not held — either Hold Shipments Until Paid is off in Shipment settings, or the hold has not been applied yet
